Communications and Public Relations Committee
Diana Brown (Chair)
The Communications Committee is responsible for promoting activities of the Urban Land Institute and the Triangle District Council. Enhancing participation at ULI Triangle forums, round tables and outreach programs and promoting/disseminating ULI educational materials are primary goals of this committee. Diversity of attendance and membership is high on the list of objectives and a measurement of success.
Jane Brasier (Chair)
The Membership Committee is responsible for expanding and maintaining ULI membership in the Triangle and eastern North Carolina. It is also responsible for furthering the diversity of ULI Triangle membership by continuing to actively recruit all sectors of the real estate development community (public and private sector). In addition, the Committee will identify and develop new member engagement products and/or programs.
Round Tables Committee
Craig Cadwallader (Chair)
The mission of the Round Table Committee is to conceptualize, plan, and produce ULI Triangle’s educational member-only round table programs. The goal is to provide a menu of educational topics that are relevant and diverse—from project specific successes and lessons learned to discussions on areas of ULI’s policy and practice initiatives.
Justin Parker (Chair)
Sixty-five percent of ULI Triangle’s budget comes from our Annual Sponsorship Campaign. Sponsorship allows ULI Triangle to host free member-only events, keep fees low for larger events and support community outreach and the Technical Assistance Program. The Sponsorship Committee develops and implements the annual sponsorship plan and builds relationships with Triangle supporters.
Strategic Action Committees
ULI Triangle’s new Strategic Action Committees (SACs) gathe members who have a specific passion and knowledge on an important regional topic, with the broad goal of providing leadership to our communities on that specific topic. Each SAC (Housing, Transportation & Infrastructure, and Technology & Innovation) will provide a venue to gather, brainstorm, share ideas on, and discuss relevant sub-topics and trends. Additionally, each SAC will seek to identify ways that the District Council can provide leadership, research, and/or education in our communities.
UrbanPlan for Public Officials
Erica Leatham (Chair)
UrbanPlan for Public Officials is an engaging workshop that convenes local decision makers for an interactive dialogue about the fundamental forces that affect the built environment and the important leadership roles that elected and appointed officials play.
Young Leader Group
Mike Wilen (Chair)
Young Leader Group is responsible for facilitating the leadership development of this valuable segment of ULI members by actively engaging its members to serve on committees throughout the District Council. Additional goals include to organize and manage a mentoring program (Partnership Forum), and to develop and host YLG-specific programs and receptions.
Women’s Leadership Initiative Steering Committee
Laura Quinn (Chair)
The mission of the WLI is expressed in its four primary objectives: promote the advancement of women, throughout their careers, as leaders in the real estate industry; increase the number of women who serve in leadership positions in the real estate industry and in ULI; increase the visibility of women leaders in the real estate industry and in ULI; and increase the number of women who are active ULI Full members, and support the development of young women members as leaders in ULI and in their professions.
